What is the "Junk Your Junipers" rebate?
"Junk Your Junipers" is a fire mitigation action promoted by Boulder County's wildfire mitigation program, Wildfire Partners. Wildfire Partners created their rebate program to help encourage homeowners in Boulder County to remove their wildfire-prone junipers.

Homeowner Associations or property managers of multi-family dwellings (e.g., townhomes, apartments, condominiums, HOA neighborhoods with common areas) located in Boulder County apply for the Multi-Family Dwelling Rebate Program.

Is the rebate program running right now?
The General Rebate Program for Boulder County homeowners is currently OPEN.
The Multi-Family Dwelling Rebate Program for Boulder County HOAs is currently OPEN. Applications are currently being accepted and the deadline to apply is 5PM on July 24, 2026. Be aware that this rebate program may close early depending on demand. The program closed early last year, so we highly recommend applying as soon as possible.

Am I eligible to apply?
The General Rebate Program and Multi-Family Dwelling Rebate Program is open to all Boulder County residents, including all municipalities and the City of Boulder, who own or rent a home in Boulder County to which the eligible wildfire mitigation actions apply. Qualifying work (Juniper Removals) and materials must be used on the property located in Boulder County.
How much is the rebate?
Single-Family Homeowners can receive up to $500 toward juniper removal services paid out-of-pocket.
Homeowner Associations or property managers of multi-family dwellings can receive up to $500 per dwelling toward juniper removal services paid out-of-pocket.
Important Note: If you apply for the Junk Your Junipers wildfire mitigation action and you earn the rebate, you cannot apply for that mitigation action again.
